SkyBound
SkyBound Part One
Set against the backdrop of Trinidad and Tobago during the kite season, "SkyBound" follows a young boy's determination to fly with the great sky beasts. This world resembles a 'nostalgic Caribbean aesthetic' infused with adventure, inventions, and a hint of magic.
The animation blends Caribbean landscapes with the enchanting image of giant kites soaring amidst cloudy skies. It captures the pure joy of kite-flying, and the wonder of experiencing it as a child, showcasing intricate designs and vibrant patterns that reflect the region's artistic traditions.

The Kite was modeled after traditional Caribbean Mad Bull kites. Its patterns take after the textiles and imagery of the many different West Indian ethnicities and diaspora, such as the First Peoples, Haitian, East Indian, Islamic, Chinese and West African peoples.
The character design of The Boy was meant to evoke a retro-futuristic aesthetic that felt like his world could be somewhere parallel to our own - his clothing is both ancient and indigenous, while his inventions in the future will be unlike anything we've seen in our time.
